Born into a family of caterers and hospitality specialists, I’ve combined all my skills to create something new and exciting with an emphasis on
‘fun through learning’.
For the past 15 years I have worked with children in both South Africa and London (8 of those years as a Montessori teacher) giving me the experience, knowledge and insight required to create something purely for children to enjoy.
With all my experience with children, we have been able to see the world through the eyes of a child, gaining a better understanding of how they think and what really matters to them.
Just Yummy is designed for children to learn more about the food we eat and where it comes from. We aim to teach children about the food groups and how different food types help our bodies, giving us the required energy on a daily basis. Just Yummy teaches children the knowledge and understanding in helping them make healthy food choices, giving them the confidence and ability to create a variety of exciting, interesting dishes at home, and during Just Yummy sessions. The children learn about different foods around the world and we celebrate the assortment of cultures and their significant festivals and traditions.
Just Yummy classes experiment with different ingredients and various cooking methods, whilst also learning about the importance of health and safety in the kitchen.
Creating something from scratch and being able to enjoy it afterwards, gives any child an individual sense of achievement and pride. With Just Yummy in particular we find that children tend to be less fussy when it comes to eating ingredients they don’t normally eat in something they have made themselves. We firmly believe that Just Yummy gives children the confidence and belief that they can do anything.
Cooking is a skill in life that every person should have, and you are never too young to learn.
We would love your child to try the Just Yummy experience...
Food allergies and intolerances are becoming more and more common in a child’s life. We believe that no child should be excluded because of an allergy or a dietary requirement. We also believe it is important that all children learn that everyone’s body functions differently.
Justine herself follows a diet with many restrictions. She has been able to use this knowledge and awareness to research and experiment with recipes that will cater to children who follow a gluten free, dairy free and wheat free diet.
We are able to adapt our workshops and cooking parties to the variety of different diets that children have to follow.
Thank you so much to you and Charlotte for your hard work and good humour this afternoon. I thought it went very well and the children had a fantastic time.
I was so grateful to you for accomodating my daughter's food restrictions into the party. Your understanding of the gluten free diet was very impressive, as was the preparation and thought you put into adapting each dish to make it safe for her. I was particularly struck by your desire for her to not feel excluded from any element of her party.
It was so lovely to see her being able to eat everything on the table without worrying about whether it would make her ill, something that rarely happens at parties. Of course, the reason we booked you for the party in the first place was because of your incredible attention to the same detail when E was a guest at another of your parties.
I will certainly recommend you to the London South Coeliac Group and anyone else, whether they have a dietary requirement or not.
